Acorn House is a well established independent fostering agency committed to delivering unrivalled care and support packages that make a real difference to young people's lives. Our approach to fostering places the child’s needs and outstanding local support for our foster carers firmly at the centre of what we do and we have developed the service to fit around their needs.
Acorn House Fostering was established with over thirty years experience as practitioners and many years direct experience of living within the care system behind us. We have a simple goal ahead of us:
To draw upon all that we have learnt, to encourage and develop committed individuals (Staff and Carers) and work in partnership with organisations that complement our service, who have the right skills, attitudes and beliefs as we do – in order that we can offer the best support packages to our Young People and families.
When you’re looking into how to transfer foster agencies, it can easily seem like this will be a long and confusing process that’s simply not worth it. But our expert team will give you all the information and support you need to transfer fostering agency, whether you’re currently looking after a child or not.
"It has been a quick, smooth process becoming approved foster carers with Acorn House. Nothing ever seems to much much trouble for the team. The training is excellent and along with our supervising social worker and other foster carers there is a great deal of support. We have a large family and the children are at the forefront of everything! Birth children and foster children.
I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this company. "

"The continuous support from my supervising social worker has been greatly appreciated, this has given me a platform to air concerns, issues which I am not sure about. We can become complacent and he is there to put me on track. I value his support tremendously.

Support staff includes front line staff and support worker. They are an integral part of the agency, and every time I have contacted them they have gone out of their way to resolve my query, what elates your confidence further more it is when they give you a courtesy call back to keep you in the loop.
Management - the training delivered by managers has been excellent, I apply the acronym LLL you never stop learning, it is life long learning. They are approachable and they are also very helpful when I have had to deal with any issues
I would like to commend everyone and say a BIG THANK YOU"

"I was approved as a foster carer with Acorn House just after the first lock down of covid 19 my supervising social worker continued with my approval though emails zoom and over the phone. I had continued support though these difficult times with continued training or catching up for a coffee and a chat or even playing bingo with other carers over zoom which took or minds of the current situation. acorns fostering have a very supportive team during the times when I had to deal with a difficult situation they where there no matter how late at night or early in the morning which was very much appreciated knowing that someone was there on the other end of the phone for me."
